My Granny loved baking bread. Raisin bread, white bread, whole wheat bread, brown bread, rye bread, bread rolls, anise seed bread and much, much more. Baking this Anise Seed Bread brought back so many good memories from my Granny's kitchen in Goodwood, Cape Town

Early on a Saturday morning, the bread was baking and on the stovetop she had the coffee pot simmering. Instead of using butter or margarine as a spread, we grew up with pork fat on freshly baked bread. Oh that was the best, add a bit of Bovril or Marmite and sprinkle over biltong flakes and you're in 'Bread Heaven'. The leftover Anise Seed Bread was cut into strips, and dried out over night in the oven. The next morning we just dipped the rusks in our coffee and enjoyed!
The best bread ever! You should try it yourself. The video is available on my YouTube Channel, https://youtu.be/CZn-vT2-Ung
